public classes

After careful examination of what happens to the urban body and mind, I’ve found my focus to be a heating series of sun salutations and variations, seated and supine poses, and [possibly]  inversions to release tension in the hips, lower back, shoulders and neck; and to stimulate the core from the internal (digestive organs) to the muscular.

Pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation techniques are incorporated to help improve respiration and reduce the emotional distress that arises when living in densely populated areas.

Classes are [usually] set to a soundtrack of music, breath, and philosophy; designed to integrate the complex rhythms of city living with the simple wisdoms of ancient traditions.

Expect to sweat [probably] and woosa [definitely].

Wednesday, 12:00 – 1:00p (power vinyasa, all levels)
403 3rd Street, SW
(202) 554-4653

Friday, 5:30 – 6:30p (vinyasa, all levels)
4310 Connecticut Avenue
(202) 364-4653

The classes at Gold’s Gym are a great way for those interested or already invested in physical fitness to simultaneously strengthen and lengthen muscles. The asanas (yogic postures) can help to reverse weaknesses caused by misuse of major muscle groups that are essential to our daily functioning (i.e., for sitting at a desk, carrying bags, using mobile phones), as well as to increase flexibility for greater range of motion and decreased tension caused by overuse of muscles (from, for example, running, cycling, or weight lifting).

Holla at me for a 1x guest pass. Check with the front desk about membership. Use our sauna.

Saturday, 12:30p – 2:00p (advanced flow)
315 G Street, SE
(202) 234-5678

The class at Results is for those who understand that “advanced” is a state of mind, not of body. Arm balancing and deepened flexibility is explored within the context of strengthening, lengthening and healing major muscle groups. Students likely have been practicing yoga for years and may have embarked upon a teaching path as well (though a consistent practice is not a pre-requisite, and fitness in other activities may prepare the body for participation in the sequences). What is most important is that we approach each posture with the willingness to recognize the ego and allow it to quiet (so that we may listen to the subtleties of the breath and the body).

Sign up online for a free visit. Check with the front desk about month-to-month membership options. Use our childcare services, steam room, all that.
